CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Hi everyone! 馃檵

Today I’m going to talk about my professional career and his programme.

I study Visual Arts at the University of Chile in Santiago.

Normally this career lasts with eight semesters, with the possibility of one additional year where you can choose between doing a thesis or a memory. Some of its subjects are Color, Visual Think, Volume, Arts History and Aesthetic. The curriculum in Visual Arts now has changed. I belong to the last gereneration with the present programme.

As any other career, this one also has some difficulties that anyone interested to study this should consider. To begin, it requires many types of materials, which is important to known because its makes the career quite expensive. It can also be absorbent too, because you need a lot of time to create news ideas and things. While you’re making something new, the whole creation experience it’s very comforting! 馃挓馃挓

To be honest, I do have some complainings. The campus infrastructure is very poor, we don´t have a stable roof (when it rans, the classroom stays wet) and the goldsmith classroom, for example, doesn’t have any ventilation or security elements. 馃槻

In my personal opinion, I have learned to deal with these limitants, and still be able to do the projects and assignments that the university demands. Nevertheless, there is something that is really hard for me to accept and tolerate: and that’s the abuse, sexual abuse, power abuse. I am totally against it, and I think it’s barely tolerable to know that you’re learning from someone who has been subject of a denunciation, and specially when you know it’s true.

I think that we have many things for change and here told about that.

Thanks for reading!

  2. the University manage very bad the different types of abuse... it makes me very angry that they really don't care about the security or health of the students in this cases.
Especially when it is the same authorities that violate our colleagues

  3. The issues with abuse in our Uni are veeeery bad. Last year, in a class that I had, the teacher's assistant was someone that has several reports of sexual abuse :/ It was super uncomfortable being in the same classroom with him.

  5. I agree, there's so much things that need to be improved, especially in terms of abuse cases. As students we should feel safe in our study space, be it the infrastructure of the building or the abuse that can occur by the authorities.
